Located in the heart of the country, Namibia's capital city Windhoek receives a constant influx of tourists, in part because of its international airport.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Safaris and NamibRand Nature Reserve. Step out of the city life by going to Deadvlei and Elim Dunes. Johannesburg, South Africa to Windhoek is an approximately 3.5-hour combination of train and flight. You can also do a combination of taxi and flight; or drive. Traveling from Johannesburg in March, expect nights in Windhoek to be about the same, around 18°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 35°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Tue) so you can go by car to Otjiwarongo.

Nestled on Namibia's Atlantic coast and surrounded by the sand dunes of the vast Namib Desert, the resort town of Swakopmund enchants visitors with its distinct German colonial architecture and pleasant climate.
