  • Went here during December for a cooking course. It was nice to spend the day with Giancarlo cooking and learning. Was a good laugh and has inspired me to push harder and hone my Italian cooking skills
  • I've been here on Saturday . It looked nice and cosy. Menu looked decent . I ordered a carbonara and my fiance ordered cocoa tortelli with walnut and gorgonzola. (Set menu of pasta and 1 glass of wine). My carbonara was not decent. I'm Italian and I was expecting minimum standard from an authentic Italian place as they like to portray their restaurant. Pasta wasn't good quality to begin with, it was overcooked, it wasn't mixed (mantecata) with the egg and cheese . It was presented white, dry, on top of raw egg yolk. I like my carbonara with the egg quite runny. But this made no sense. It was just raw egg yolk , no salt on the bottom. The cheese is supposed to be pecorino and not parmigiano. It was grated really thick and everything wasn't mixed and it was cold , matter of fact the cheese didn't even try to melt a little. It wasn't guanciale and not even pancetta, it was bacon and it wasn't enough. Very disappointed. House wine was good, but I go to a restaurant for their food mainly, so that didn't make it up . My partner received some pumpkin ravioli , tasted like water. We know it's supposed to be delicate, hence why I wouldn't dress it with pesto, as it covers the flavour. After a couple he realized they brought the wrong order , as this wasn't the cocoa tortelli. They brought the right dish in the end, which was good to be fair. Overpriced for what it is and the quality, even for mayfair.
