Olympic Sound Studios was a renowned independent commercial recording studio best known for the many rock, pop and sound stage recordings made during late 1960s onwards. It was a highly respected studio used by the music industry's rock and pop bands. The eclectic list of musicians who recorded there include the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles and the studios were considered as important as Abbey Road Studios. The studio's sound mixing desks became famous when the technology and design they pioneered was later manufactured commercially.

  • The Olympic is a lovely cinema and the restaurant looks nice and has a good atmosphere. However the food is far less good than it used to be. They have become casual. But still a nice place to go. However today and the last time I rang the cinema, I spoke to a most unhelpful girl. Snooty and sounding bored and dismissive. I spend a lot of time and money at both the cinema and restaurant and wanted to exchange my tickets, (Not even refund) for another day as one of our party is ill. She couldn’t have been less sympathetic or more unhelpful. Sneering almost. I have therefore paid £64 for nothing and am even a film club member. Is this result of well deserved success. I am hugely disappointed as this the second time of such treatment.
  • Cosy setting, very nice seats. Ticket availability can be an issue and don't expect warm popcorn or too much variety at the tuck shop. But a much much better experience than the typical large chains...
