As we were in the area we stopped here, lots of artwork and only a few areas I would say were ornate, but the highlight is the ceiling - it's wonderful. more »
Very interesting building designed by Indigo Jones for Anne of Denmark, queen of king James I. Apparently the first British classical building in the country. The building is a very nice (free) stop on the way to the viewpoint. The exhibitions are mainly about the residents throughout the years and the functions of the house.
Wonderful staff, beautiful place. Not appropriate with little children as sounds echo galore! Hence i had to make a quick exit, didnt want to ruin the experience for others.
