St. James's Park is one of the most pleasurable green spaces in London. The oldest of the city's royal parks, it offers 23 hectares (57 acres) of lawns, trees, and playgrounds around a pond. Take a stroll down the queen's ceremonial route from Buckingham Palace, spot the palace and the London Eye from the Blue Bridge, and enjoy a waterside meal at Inn the Park while spotting ducks, geese, swans, and even pelicans. While in the park, keep an eye out for some of the plaques along the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. This 11 km (7 mi) route past buildings and locations related to the princess goes through this park, as well as Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. A visit to St. James's Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our London travel route builder website to plot your vacation.

A beautiful park that basically leads from Westminster to Buckingham palace. Beautiful to walk through in any season due to the nature and animals but can get a bit busy during the day. For many tourists the fairly tame grey squirrels are very interesting to see and feed. But please make sure you give them the correct food such a nuts or fruit.
Good for picnic or at least to enjoy your pack lunch in the middle of hectic London life. Many interesting wildlife life inside the park. So mesmerizing. Watch out for the geese on the grass though. These flock usually following where people going since for some reason they think they will be fed. Not aggressive though. Just stay calm, ignore, and leave quietly if you're not an animal person.
