  • We found ourselves here yesterday after visiting the Churchill war rooms. Perfect sanctuary from the bustling crowds on the surrounding streets. A sign outside claimed that they serve the best fish and chips. Best or not, they were really damn good.
  • Great place to be! During our visits in London we've been multiple times to 'The Old Shades' for some tasty food and a pint. Very friendly staff taking time for a chat. And during the busy times it was funny to see how the pub changed from almost empty to totally crowded within 20 minutes as it was invaded by legions of office workers from Whitehall. 'The Old Shades' remains on our list for the next visit to London!
