  • Now this was a revelation of a garden. I wasn't impressed walking through its main gate, but the garden grows on you as you explore deeper and deeper to its literal depth. For this, you step outside the walled garden bit into a very well-manicured "jungle" of beautifully planted garden. Which leads you down to the small stream running through the deep of the garden. You are then rewarded with not only visual splendour but also an explosion of olfactory exploration. The ferns were glorious, the fungi breathtaking and the hydrangeas were spectacular. Coming back to the top of the garden, the south facing border is amply stocked with beautiful perennials. The cafe is also very nice, with a view to the very well mowed lawn. Please visit to support independent gardens such as this.
  • Beautiful gardens with pretty white seating features. Waterfalls and a stream running through the woodland area. We enjoyed the silver tea pots, good sandwiches (with thick off the bone ham) and the Welsh Brie (sandwiches only served up until 2.30 pm, only cakes after this time). Hopefully this will change when the cafe extension has been completed. Very impressed with the owner who helped both visitors and staff, he was a gracious and humble man - which you don't see very often! It left us with a good feeling. Friends tell me it's a lovely place to visit when the snowdrops are out too!
