Memorial Waterloo 1815
Witness the site of Napoleon Bonaparte's defeat at Memorial Waterloo 1815, which commemorates one of the world's most famous battles. In the center is the Lion Mount, where a proud lion sculpture watches over the hill's peak. Walk up to the top for a view of the entire battlefield. Enter the museum, where you'll find a panorama of the battle representing the soldiers from all sides facing off across the open space. Video presentations give you an overview of the history behind the Napoleonic Wars. Purchase your tickets on arrival and wear comfortable walking shoes for the walk up the hill. I very good museum!! I highly recommend going here, even if you know nothing about Warerloo (like me). I ended up learning a lot. The museum is very interactive and fun. My friends stressed that they don't like going to museums, but they all said that this was a very fun museum and they enjoyed it. There are so many different sections like the lion's mound, a movie theater, interactive quizzes, a panorama of the battlefield. There's something for everyone here! It is worth your time and money, no doubt.

Finding this place is more difficult than You'd expect for an attraction with broad interest from all over the world. Signs and directions are pretty much absent. Once you get to the museum, it unfortunately takes quite some prior history knowledge to follow the exhibits. It's probably obviously to Belgians (and the French), but we had to Google a few times. The tour system and many of the interactive exhibits are dated and could use, not and hi update, but a rethinking with UX in mind. And oh, after paying €50-60 for the family I don't what to pay 1€ to use the binoculars at the view point of Butte de Lion. The exhibits where overall OK and the panorama good. I would recommend going, but it also a tourist trap.
