This Museum has to be on every ones cards if you have never visited before, it is a very moving experience and it tells you the whole story of Ypres during WWI.

This is a perfect museum to explore Ypres' past up until WW1. It's mostly designed for children, but serious and informative enough to enjoy as adults too, yet also comical (the video in the theatre in the attic is very funny). Also nice and moody in terms of lighting. There's also a space dedicated to findings from the drowned polders nearby. It has erotic pins from the Middle Ages, a very unique subject. Decorating the walls are amazingly high quality paintings, and in the attic some of the best old photos of Ypres I've ever seen. Very qualitative museum.
