The surrounding gardens, developed in 1861 in anticipation of a visit by Queen Victoria, now contain a modern self-service restaurant and fully restored Victorian glasshouses. I absolutely love this place. It has to be the best place to go for walks. Food is also worth staying for. Fantastic gardens. Fabulous cycle paths. The views are amazing. Highly recommend this place for a day out. Bring a picnic and sit on grass in Summer. Fantastic

What a lovely place, the house itself is fabulous, brilliant piece of history. Sadly can’t take any pictures inside. Walks are good, lots of parking spaces. Visitors centre and restaurants are perfect. Tidy bathrooms, lovely staff.
