Le Due Torri Torre degli Asinell
Witness two iconic landmarks of Bologna dating back to the Middle Ages, Le Due Torri Torre degli Asinell. The 12th-century, leaning towers serve as prominent historical symbols of a city that once boasted more than 100 such structures. Climb the 97 m (318 ft) high Asinelli Tower to see the drastic leaning angle of the Garisenda Tower and to view the city and countryside. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes; the climb to the top is steep and narrow. Stairs. More stairs. All the way up to the top! Reward is a great panoramic view over the city. And way down is a lot easier. Not for people having poor condition.

It's easy to get tickets to this place, just make sure you do it at least a day before when there are enough slots for the tickets. The stairs are pretty narrow and mostly suitable for unidirectional climbing. Don't go if you feel claustrophobic. There are resting places every few floors. Hold on to the stair railings to avoid missing steps or stumbling. First aid boxes are available. The view is great from up top and it is pleasantly windy. Best views are in the evening or so I've heard.

Bologna is a beautiful and calm city in Italy. It is more than just the two towers. There are so many beautiful structures and yet not as crowded as many other tourist destinations in the country. The city centre is lively and they do theatre shows so, if you have the nights to spend, you can also enjoy this.
