Create an itinerary including Villa Necchi Campiglio
One of Milan's museum houses, Villa Necchi Campiglio offers a glimpse into villa architecture in interwar Italy. Designed by Italian architect Piero Portaluppi, this was created as a single-family home with opulent grounds, rather than a palace or mansion. Over the years, it was home to Milanese elite and European royalty. As you wander from one richly decorated room to another, admire paintings and other artwork from the 18th through the 20th centuries. Plan your visit to Villa Necchi Campiglio and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Milan online day trip planner.

  • What a wonderful place. The villa is a stunning feat of art deco architecture by P. Portaluppi. You can walk around in many rooms and not only appreciate the beautiful architecture, but also the period pieces of furniture and older pieces. Many rooms show art in the form of statues and paintings (some very nice modern Italian art of the 20th century, and also more older paintings) and other decorative art. Some spaces have temporary exhibits. Outside is a beautiful garden with art deco swimming pool. There is a shop and a small bar. The staff was very friendly and informative. Certainly worth a visit if you like architecture or an insight in how a bourgeois family lived in the last century.
