Athens of the Spree
The country's capital and largest city, Berlin is a diverse urban center boasting a lively nightlife and countless things to do.Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Stadtkirche and Castle Church. Discover out-of-the-way places like Lutherhalle/Lutherhaus and Magdeburger Dom. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Berlin: Marmorpalais (in Potsdam), Gartenreich Dessau-Worlitz (in Worlitz) and Drehbrucke Malchow (in Malchow). Dresden boasts a long history as a royal residence of many Saxon kings.Start off your visit on the 25th (Mon): step into the grandiose world of Fasanenschlosschen Moritzburg, then see the interesting displays at Gedenkstatte Bautzner Strasse, then examine the collection at Parkeisenbahn, and finally stop by Tradition & Form. Getting from Berlin to Dresden by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. In November, daily temperatures in Dresden can reach 9°C, while at night they dip to 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 27th (Wed) to allow time for the car ride back home.
